HERITAGE PROJECT | FRIENDS OF FARM VIGANO`

As Vice President of the Friends of Farm Vigano`committee in 2005, a property inspection report was provided to Parks Victoria and State Government Minister of Water. The Minister of Water response assisted the Friends of Farm Vigano` committee to obtain critical maintenance funding from the State Government, matched with funds by Whittlesea Council. Critical maintenance issues were raised to seal the house from falling damp and pest infiltration.

As an Archicentre Architect at the time, with many years experience inspecting properties, I was amazed to find the bathroom mauve coloured terrazzo floor and cove skirting intact without blemish. The house was constructed mid 20th century but was abandoned for decades.

The success of the Friends of Farm Vigano`committee, Whittlesea Council, State Government and Parks Victoria, preserved an important historical record of Australian architectural heritage.
